SRRMC Appoints 2010 Medical Staff Leadership

Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center’s mission to serve the community with excellence in health care is strengthened by the support of the affiliated medical staff and its leadership. The hospital is pleased to announce new medical staff leadership appointments. Fernando Esclopis, MD has been appointed to serve a two-year term as Chief of Staff; Mario A. Mendizabal, MD, has been appointed to serve a one-year term as Chief of Medicine; and Aparna Chunduri, MD, has been appointed to serve a one-year term as Chief of Surgery.

Dr. Esclopis, board certified in pathology, has been on staff at Seven Rivers Regional since 2005. He received his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago and completed his internship and residency at Mount Sinai Hospital and Medical Center in Miami Beach, FL. He also completed a fellowship in cytopathology at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL.

Dr. Mendizabal has been on staff at Seven Rivers Regional since 1978. He received his medical degree from the Universidad Mayor de San Simon in Cochabamba, Bolivia and completed his internship at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. He completed his residency at Central State Griffin Memorial Hospital in Norman, OK.

Dr. Chunduri, board certified in anesthesiology, has been on staff at Seven Rivers Regional since 2007. She received her medical degree from the University of Health Sciences, Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, India. She completed her internship in preliminary-surgery at Guthrie/Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA and residency in anesthesia at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL.

The hospital would like to extend its gratitude to outgoing leaders V.R. Alugubelli, MD, past Chief of Staff; Oliver K. Sevilla, MD, past Chief of Medicine; and Constantine A. Toumbis, MD, PhD, past Chief of Surgery.  Seven Rivers Regional appreciates the hard work and dedication of these physicians.
